Trevor McIvor Architects is excited to announce our expansion into Cottage Country, with new studio spaces in Parry Sound and Gravenhurst. This growth allows us to better serve our rural projects and be even more connected to the landscapes that inspire our work.

We would love the opportunity to collaborate with you and bring your vision to life. Contact us to arrange a site meeting. We’ll visit your property and explore the possibilities together, boots on the ground.

OUR TEAM

TREVOR MCIVOR
Principal Architect, OAA, MRAIC

Trevor is the principal of TMA and is a licensed Architect registered with the Ontario Association of Architects and a Member of the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada and a member of the Toronto Society of Architects.

My sensibilities for the environment and strong connection to the Canadian landscape were informed during a lifetime of family cottaging and camping in Algonquin Park and experiencing natural beauty from coast to coast. Like many of us I find this the perfect counterpoint to the vibrancy of living and travelling in our dense urban Cities. I attended the University of Waterloo School of Architecture during which time I spent numerous work terms working on construction sites learning the realities of the building industry. In 1998 I graduated, completing my thesis work on sustainable design. In 1998 I established Altius Design and later Altius Architecture with three classmates and remained as Principal until establishing Trevor McIvor Architect in 2016. Having completed over fifty unique buildings across Ontario over the last twenty years the goal with our new studio is to build on this experience, push our ideas and continue working in this beautiful and varied landscape, both the urban and the unknown, collaborating with unique people to create buildings that harmonize them with their surroundings.

Alisha’s special interests include unique, site-driven homes and mid-century inspired furniture, which she studied in Denmark. Since joining TMA in 2020, Alisha has worked on a wide range of custom residential & cottage projects throughout Ontario. With over five years of experience at TMA, she continues to bring creativity, technical precision, and a positive, solution-oriented attitude to every project.

STEVE CHOE
Senior Associate, M.ARCH

Steve is a graduate of the University of Waterloo School of Architecture whose thesis work was influenced by years of canoe tripping in Ontario. As one of three founding partners of Sasquatch Designlab in 2002, he delved into industrial design, furniture design, interior design and outdoor environments.  In 2005, Sasquatch led a group of young Canadian designers exhibiting work at the Milan Furniture Fair. Steve joined Altius Architects in 2007 and Trevor McIvor Architect Inc. in 2018. Inspired and informed by past experiences and the landscapes of cottage country, he has since focused on custom homes across Ontario through all phases of design and construction.
